Conyers Dill & Pearman is pleased to announce the publication of Cross-Border Judicial Cooperation in Offshore Litigation (The British Offshore World), co-edited by Conyers’ restructuring and insolvency partner Robin J. Mayor.
In addition, Conyers lawyers authored the Cayman, British Virgin Islands and Bermuda chapters on the enforcement of foreign judgments in each of those jurisdictions for the publication, which was published by Wildy, Simmonds and Hill Publishing last month, and named Wildy’s Book of the Month for September 2009.
Nigel Meeson, QC, head of the firm’s Cayman Islands Litigation and Dispute Resolution department, Richard Evans in the Litigation department of Conyers’ British Virgin Islands office and Alex Potts in the firm’s Bermuda Litigation department contributed chapters to the book for each jurisdiction.
The book provides a practical and comprehensive guide to international co-operation in commercial litigation and insolvency in major offshore financial centres namely: Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, and the Cayman Islands, Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man. The first three of those centres are jurisdictions in which Conyers provides legal advice.
According to Wildy’s, “there is growing concern over how the courts of these jurisdictions will cooperate with courts in other centres of commerce in responding to letters of request, enforcing foreign judgments, or assisting foreign liquidators.”
The volume analyses law and practice in each jurisdiction relating to the obtaining of evidence for foreign proceedings, enforcing foreign judgements and cross-border insolvency. Click here for more information.
