Conyers recognised by IFLR1000 as corporate and finance leader
IFLR1000 has published its 2019 rankings and Conyers has maintained a leading position across its global network.

IFLR1000 cited the firm’s work on a number of capital markets transactions, as well as its strengths in M&A. Conyers was also regarded for its work in insurance, aviation, shipping and investment funds.
Summary of Conyers’ 2019 rankings:
A storied Bermuda firm, Conyers Dill & Pearman ranks Tier 1 for its financial and corporate practice. One of the firm’s most impressive qualities is its range of expertise. Conyers handled everything from M&A transactions to restructurings, regulatory concerns, fund formations and capital markets offerings for clients.
One of the firm’s highlights came from advising Sky Aviation Leasing International on its asset-backed securities offering.
In addition to its specialties in the aviation and insurance sectors, Conyers also handles significant work for clients in life sciences. In one standout transaction, Conyers represented Roivant Sciences in connection with an equity investment in the company that was led by the SoftBank Vision Fund.

British Virgin Islands: Conyers is an undisputed leader in the BVI legal market. The firm places in Tier 1 for both its financial and corporate and investment funds practices.
The team worked on a number of large capital markets deals on both the debt and equity sides. In one highlight, Conyers represented Argentinian online travel company Despegar on its IPO on the NYSE.
The corporate group also handled several high-profile M&A deals, including Suez’s acquisition of General Electric’s water and process technologies group. Conyers represented General Electric on the sale.

Cayman Islands: In the Cayman Islands Conyers showed strength in the corporate side, in particular in IPO and M&A work. One of Conyers’ corporate practice highlights came from its capital markets capabilities: the firm represented Brazil-based PagSeguro Digital on its NYSE IPO.
The corporate team also handled a number of large M&A transactions, with many of them coming from the oil and gas and technology sectors. One of the standout deals from the pharmaceuticals industry saw Conyers advise Crown Biosciences International on its acquisition by JSR.

Hong Kong: Conyers Dill & Pearman is one of the strongest offshore firms in Hong Kong where it is best known for its M&A and capital markets work. The firm has a 62% share of the Hong Kong IPO market, and has acted in over 75% of the major offshore M&A deals for over 15 years.
Capital markets highlights in the research period include advising FIT Hon Teng in its HKSE IPO and advising Qudian in its NYSE IPO.
In M&A the firm has been providing Cayman Islands legal advice to Trina Solar in its take-private transaction.
