Conyers Dill & Pearman (“Conyers”) has once again earned high rankings for its Corporate Finance, Dispute Resolution and International Private Client practices from Chambers & Partners.
The 2009 Chambers Global Ranking placed Conyers in the top spot for Corporate Finance law in Bermuda, edging other Bermuda firms into lower tiers as, according to the Chambers website, Conyers is “the market leader” and “in a league of its own when it comes to Bermuda corporate matters”.
Conyers’ British Virgin Islands (“BVI”) Corporate Finance practice is also highly ranked by Chambers, due to the team’s experience and the firm’s global presence, which has attracted a large portion of sophisticated corporate and financial work to the BVI practice.
Chambers also highlights Conyers’ Cayman Islands Corporate Finance practice, with commentators commending the firm’s “track record” of excellent service. The firm’s continued growth in the Cayman Islands has also seen its Investment Funds practice enter the Chambers rankings for the first time.
Conyers’ Bermuda and BVI offices also topped the Dispute Resolutions rankings. The “specialist litigation expertise in banking, insurance, reinsurance and trusts” of Conyers’ Bermuda Dispute Resolution practice positions it as a top firm, according to Chambers. According to Chambers, the BVI team’s “engagement in an impressive volume of large, high-value international commercial disputes and insolvency and restructuring matters” has earned it a top ranking for Dispute Resolution in the BVI.
Overall, Chambers drew attention to Conyers’ increasing international capabilities and its ability to advise clients on a global scale. For the second year running, Conyers is ranked in tier three for its International Private Client practice, and enters the Global Offshore rankings for the first time as a tier two firm. Commentators also praised Conyers’ Dubai practice for its multi-jurisdictional capacity. For more information please see the Chambers website.
