Conyers Helps Local Charities

January 2009 Updated on 25 March 2010

Cayman Islands law firm Conyers Dill & Pearman is pleased to announce two successful charity fundraisers earlier this month, providing funds for Cayman Wildlife Rescue and the Cayman Aids Foundation.

Conyers relaxed its professional dress code holding back-to-back dress down days with proceeds raised going to the charities.

Partners and staff made donations to the Cayman Wildlife Rescue in a show of support for its rescue plans for the wildlife affected hurricane Paloma, which caused heavy damage across the Cayman Islands.

The firm held a second dress down day to commemorate World AIDS Day, with employees wearing red and donations going to the Cayman AIDS Foundation. A team of Conyers employees also participated in the HIV/AIDS 5K Walk on Sunday, November 30th.

Managing Partner Rick Finlay stated: “Once again I am delighted with the response of Conyers staff to these worthwhile causes. The effects of Paloma touch everyone in our office especially bearing in mind the uniqueness of the wildlife of our sister islands. In addition, we are proud to raise awareness for the Cayman AIDS Foundation, which works tirelessly to educate on the danger of HIV/AIDS and to help prevent the spread of the disease while giving support to persons living with HIV/AIDS in the Cayman Islands. The dress down days are a fun way for our staff to participate and contribute to the community.”

In addition to its support of these charities, Conyers’ Community Programme is actively involved in a number of local charities and educational programs.
