Conyers Dill & Pearman is pleased to announce leading English company law barrister Rosalind Nicholson has joined the firm’s litigation and restructuring team in the British Virgin Islands.
Rosalind brings 23 years’ experience in advising clients including household names and FTSE 100 companies, shareholders, and boards across various industry sectors, with a focus on providing commercially-focused advice on corporate governance, strategy, risk management and restructuring.
Rosalind’s practice extends across all areas in which issues of company law arise, with a specialization in advising and litigating on company law and corporate finance matters. She has particular expertise in schemes of arrangement, shareholder rights and remedies, capital reorganizations and directors’ rights and responsibilities. At Conyers, Rosalind will be an integral part of the litigation and restructuring team, advising on shareholder disputes and contentious as well as non-contentious restructuring.
Until joining Conyers, Rosalind practised from 4 Stone Buildings, Lincoln’s Inn, earning a reputation as an expert in company law and corporate finance. She has appeared in a number of complex and high-profile English cases at all levels, including the Supreme Court, and is recommended as a leading practitioner in company law by independent legal directories including Chambers and Partners and Legal 500.
Rosalind is a strong complement to Conyers’ internationally recognized BVI litigation and restructuring practice, which is one of the largest in the jurisdiction and has been at the forefront of many of the most prominent and complex litigation cases before the BVI Commercial court in the past 8 years.
Mark Forte, head of Litigation and Restructuring in the BVI, commented: “Rosalind is an excellent lawyer with an outstanding reputation for her ability to provide high quality and practical advice, and our clients will benefit from the depth and calibre of her experience. Rosalind’s arrival deepens our existing strengths and further solidifies our market-leading position for top class litigation, experienced advocacy, and restructuring/insolvency work here on the ground in the BVI. We are pleased to welcome her to Conyers.”
Commenting on her move to Conyers, Rosalind said: “I am delighted to be joining Conyers BVI, whose first class reputation as a leader in corporate law and litigation in the BVI and globally is well established. I am very much looking forward to working with such an accomplished team and to playing a part in the firm’s continued success as it further expands its business. Conyers’ highly respected BVI practice will provide an excellent platform for challenging and exciting work.”
Rosalind was called to the Bar in 1987. She is a graduate of Magdalen College, Oxford.
Rosalind’s hire underscores Conyers’ continued commitment to growth, and follows a series of recent hires to the firm’s global practice.
