Conyers Expands Corporate Team in Bermuda

Conyers has hired Guy Cooper to its Corporate Practice in Bermuda as part of a spate of new hires to the firm.

Guy will focus on company and commercial work, with specialist expertise in the formation of companies and partnerships, joint ventures, restructuring and finance transactions. Guy has experience in a diverse range of corporate, transactional, regulatory and finance work.

Guy joins Conyers from Reed Smith's Financial Industry Group, where he worked as an associate in both the Dubai and Abu Dhabi offices of the firm. Prior to working at Reed Smith, Guy worked in Conyers' Bermuda office before a secondment to Dubai, where he was instrumental in the launch of the firm's Dubai practice in 2006 alongside Roger Burgess.

Guy is a 5 year PQE England & Wales and Bermuda qualified lawyer. He holds a BA (Hons) in Economics and Geography from the University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne in England. Guy also completed a Postgraduate Degree in Law and Legal Practice (achieving Commendation) from The College of Law in Guildford, England.

Conyers has the largest corporate department in Bermuda and fields a number of internationally renowned lawyers who have advised on a number of significant deals this year.
