Conyers Dill & Pearman is announcing today Stephen Scali as Head of the Mauritius office. He will be advising leading financial institutions, investment firms, corporate and other clients in a broad variety of cross-border transactions. Stephen was most recently the Chief Executive of a licensed international trust company in Mauritius that focused – typically in the context of jurisdictions such as Africa and India – on corporate structuring and matters, investments and trusts.

Stephen has vast corporate law experience internationally. He formerly practiced law at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in London and Paris where he advised on cross-border transactions involving Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India. As well, he served as in-house counsel at Vodafone Group Plc and Merrill Lynch in relation to corporate, commercial, finance, banking, capital markets and funds matters.
Stephen earned his law degree from Harvard Law School, and is also a graduate of Warwick Business School and the University of British Columbia. He is an Attorney-at-Law in New York State (USA) and admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in England and Wales (currently non-practising). Stephen is a Member of the International Bar Association, International Fiscal Association and the American Chamber of Commerce (Mauritius). He is a Fellow of the Mauritius Institute of Directors and belongs to the Society of Trust and Estate Practioners.
