Conyers awards Hong Kong Legal Prize

Conyers Dill & Pearman is delighted to announce Mr Jeffrey Kwan Kok Wah as the 2011 recipient of the annual Conyers Dill & Pearman Prize in Commercial Law.

The prize, valued at US $5,000 (HKD $39,000), is awarded annually to the LLM student at The University of Hong Kong who achieves the best overall performance in the Master of Laws in Corporate and Financial Law Programme. The winner is selected by The University of Hong Kong Faculty of Law Board.

Prior to obtaining his LLM, Jeffrey worked in the finance industry for over 14 years, primarily in the trading and investments of corporate bonds and other credit instruments. He holds a BSc in Finance & Information Systems from New York University and is a CFA Charterholder.

Lilian Woo, Managing Partner of Conyers Hong Kong office, commented: “Jeffrey is an exemplary student and we laud his performance this year. We are delighted to award Jeffrey this prize.”

Speaking of his award, Jeffrey said: “Reading Masters of Laws in Corporate and Financial Law at The University of Hong Kong has been a very challenging endeavour. However, my enthusiasm in seeking enlightenment in the field of commercial law has driven me to accomplish this task with dedication. To be the recipient of this prize is an utmost honour.”

The Conyers Dill & Pearman Prize in Commercial Law was established in 2010 by Conyers’ Hong Kong office together with The University of Hong Kong, the longest established university in Hong Kong.
