Cayman strengthens Litigation team with new hire

International law firm Conyers Dill & Pearman is pleased to announce the addition of Richard Barton as an Associate in its growing Cayman Islands Litigation Department, effective October 8, 2008.

Richard joins the Firm from the Attorney General’s Chambers, where he previously held the position of Crown Counsel. Richard read law at the Cayman Islands Law School and graduated with honours from the University of Liverpool in 2002. In 2005, he received a Post Graduate Diploma in Professional Legal Skills from Inns of Court School of Law in England, having completed the Bar Vocational Course. Richard is a member of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn and the Cayman Islands Bar Association.

Nigel Meeson Q.C., Head of the Litigation Department in the Firm’s Cayman Islands office, said of Richard’s appointment: “I am delighted to welcome Richard to our team. His addition is timely in this period of financial turmoil. Our litigation team has doubled in size in just over a year and Richard’s experience positions us to build significantly on our existing litigation expertise. Richard is an example of Conyers Dill & Pearman’s continued commitment to the training and development of young Caymanians.”
