As anticipated, the Mutual Funds (Amendment) Law 2012 (the “Amendment Law”) came into effect on 10 January 2013. The purpose of the amendments is to clarify the regime relating to the registration of master funds, introduced by the Mutual Funds (Amendment) Law 2011. The definitions of “feeder fund”, “master fund” and “regulated feeder fund” have been amended to settle any uncertainty regarding whether certain master funds are required to register.
