Ruth Hatt is an Associate in the Cayman Islands office of Conyers Dill & Pearman. Ruth joined Conyers in 2014. She qualified as a solicitor in 1998 and practiced with Clifford Chance in London prior to moving to the Cayman Islands in 2003.
Ruth specialises in all aspects of corporate, regulatory, licensing, information disclosure and anti-money laundering matters. She has extensive experience advising a wide range of financial institutions with special emphasis on regulatory matters, including advising on licence applications to the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority across all spectrums of Cayman Islands regulatory laws and tax information disclosure requirements under the Cayman Islands Tax Information Authority Law (to include the Common Reporting Standard and FATCA). Ruth is an Associate Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute and is a Chartered Insurance Practitioner. Throughout her career she has assisted insurance captives, reinsurers and domestic insurance companies on all aspects of insurance licensing and ongoing regulatory matters, including anti-money laundering and combating of terrorist financing and sanction matters.
