Conyers acted as Special Bermuda Counsel to International Meal Company Holdings Ltd., a Bermuda holding company with Brazilian, Mexican and Carribean retail food concessions and multi-brand casual dining chains, in completing a significant private equity investment transaction of US$100 million. Majority owner Advent Funds, a US private equity firm, participated in the new investment, along with two new private equity investors, including an investment manager for public sector clients in British Columbia, Canada and a global investment management company based in Asia.
Conyers worked alongside Mattos Filho, who provided Brazilian legal counsel in the transaction.
As the only offshore law firm with an office in Brazil, Conyers provides time zone sensitive advice to clients across Latin America. Conyers' São Paulo office is an important advantage in providing prompt and cost effective service, and with attorneys in the region who can meet clients 'on the ground', offers an attractive proposition for clients.
