Lenders and operators involved in the field of aviation finance are aware of the advantages of financing properly maintained aircraft engines independently of the airframe to which they may be attached. In most circumstances, an aircraft engine is an identifiable stand alone asset with a separate manufacturer’s serial number (an msn). If the asset is properly maintained, it retains a substantial independent value and a theoretically unlimited useful life span.
