Stephen Leontsinis is an associate in the Litigation department in the Cayman Islands office of Conyers Dill & Pearman. Stephen joined Conyers in 2009.

Stephen specialises in advising on Schemes of Arrangement in the Cayman Islands. While these predominantly emanate from Hong Kong, Stephen has recently been instructed by Dechert LLP to represent one of the major creditor banks in the Scheme of Arrangement currently proposed by the liquidators of the Sphinx Companies Ltd, a high profile liquidation in the Cayman Islands.

Stephen’s recent litigation experience includes acting as lead litigator on various pieces of construction litigation on behalf of the Cayman Islands Government; representing a Trustee in restructuring litigation; representing a beneficiary in contentious trust litigation (the appeal of which was heard by the Privy Council in January 2011); representing various liquidators in both contentious and non-contentious liquidations of mutual funds and companies; representing minority shareholders in both liquidations and minority shareholder protection matters; and representing liquidators in Madoff related matters. Stephen also has extensive experience as counsel in numerous high profile Tax, Trust, Company and Insolvency matters in South Africa.
