Conyers Dill & Pearman has established a trust company in Anguilla, Codan Trust Company (Anguilla) Limited, to facilitate the incorporation, and thereafter the administration, of Anguillan companies. Conyers Dill & Pearman has also been granted the right to practise law in Anguilla, and partners have been called to the Anguillan Bar.

We provide a seamless global service through links with our international offices - something of increasing importance to clients conducting multi-jurisdictional transactions.

Anguilla is a British dependency in the Caribbean with a rational, growth-orientated tax system, based mainly on consumption taxes.

Anguilla is carefully establishing itself as a modern and well-regulated jurisdiction, with a common law legal system based on English law. The country is essentially self-governing; its legislature is the democratically elected House of Assembly. The Constitution gives the British appointed Governor certain fundamental reserve powers. The Governor as H.M. The Queen's representative must assent to all legislation.

Incorporation

A significant feature of incorporating in Anguilla is the Anguillan companies registry and its web-based ACORN system. In essence, the computers perform all the functions that have traditionally been performed by people in companies' registry. ACORN uses computer assisted drafting techniques to facilitate the preparation of corporate and constitutional documents.

Ancillary Services

Affiliated companies provide corporate secretarial services and specialised company management services to our clients. Conyers Dill & Pearman is affiliated with a global network of licensed trust companies under the umbrella of Codan Trust which undertakes a broad range of trust administration services for private clients and corporations.
